Officials say two people suffered injuries in a reported shooting at a Colorado high school Friday afternoon and the gunman is dead.
It happened at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colorado. The Arapahoe County Sheriff says the suspected shooter, who was a student at the school, has died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“The (suspected gunman) identified a specific teacher at Arapahoe High School that he was interested in targeting,” Robinson said in a press conference outside the high school, saying the situation began materializing around 12:30 p.m.
Robinson says the shooter was armed with a shotgun. The teacher that had been targeted was escorted from the building and is safe.
Two students were shot during the incident. One is in serious condition and is being operated on at a local hospital. The second student suffered minor injuries and is expected to be released Friday.
