This late in the season, quality Christmas trees could be hard to come by, but there’s still one place in Iowa that still has plenty of fresh greens.
The YMCA is selling Christmas trees at the Hy-Vee on University Avenue in Windsor Heights. Organizers said they still have about 200 trees left.
All of the proceeds from the Christmas tree sales will go to the YMCA’s annual campaign which helps pay for programs and services in the community.
“I’m not sure why things are so slow. It could be because there’s one less week before Christmas time,” said Todd Cuver of the YMCA.
“It’s been a little cold, but the volunteers are out here and ready to help people,” Cuver added.
If you went out looking for a tree at Hy-Vee on Saturday afternoon, you might have caught a glimpse of Santa while you were there.
