Sac County officials say a Des Moines man stole property worth at least $50,000 during burglaries in Sac, Crawford, and Ida counties.

Fifty-eight-year-old Terry Randol was arrested October 10th by Sac County Sheriff’s deputies after they discovered him burglarizing a vacant farm west of Auburn. Randol has been in the Sac County Jail since his initial arrest.

October 18th investigators received more information about Randol’s alleged activities following the recovery of a truck stolen from Sac County and found in Iowa Falls. Two suspects were taken into custody and questioned. One of the suspects led them to the Urbandale apartment complex at 4409 86th Street.

Officers searched a garage on the property and recovered about $50,000 in property taken during burglaries along the Sac and Crawford county lines.

Officials have now charged Randol with three counts of 3rd degree burglary, two counts of 2nd degree theft, and ongoing criminal conduct.

Sac County Sheriff Ken McClure is asking anyone who may have had tools stolen from Sac, Crawford, and Ida counties to contact them. “We have a lot of unclaimed property if you have it marked in a special way or you have serial numbers, we can get the property returned to the rightful owners,” says McClure.
