Strong sales in Iowa and across the country are pushing the giant Mega Millions jackpot even higher for Tuesday’s drawing.
The jackpot is now at an estimated $586-million.
If the winner takes the cash option they will walk away with over $316-million. It ranks as the second-largest Mega Millions jackpot in history.
The jackpot was last won on October 1.
During the last drawing on Friday almost 82,000 tickets purchased in Iowa won prizes ranging from $1 to $5,000.
If nobody wins Tuesday night, the jackpot for Friday’s drawing will begin at $800 million.
