Iowa Workforce Development is reporting the lowest unemployment rate in the state since November 2008.
November’s rate is down to 4.4 percent from October’s 4.6 percent. Last year at this time the rate was up slightly, at 4.9 percent.
“The Iowa job market appears to be on a path of steady and sustainable improvement,” says Teresa Walhert with IWD, “Combined job gains for October and November totaled 5,000.”
Iowa’s numbers are still considerably lower than the national rate, which fell to seven-percent last month.
