WINTER STORM WARNING: Blowing Snow

SNOW

The winter storm warning and advisory have been cancelled. Gusty wind this afternoon and evening will create dangerous wind chills and low visibilities.

We have snow reports of 5.9″ at the Des Moines International Airport. West Des Moines reported 3.5″ of snow. Humeston in Wayne County has 8″ of snow.

Roads are partially to 100% snow covered over most of central Iowa Check the latest road conditions here.

Cold air and strong winds will will lead to blowing snow through the day and keep roads in bad shape. Wind chills will reach -15 to -20 tonight.

Monday will be even colder as high temperatures will not be able to rise out of the single digits.

Christmas Eve there is a chance of light flurries. Christmas Day will be dry with highs warming to the upper 20s to just barely 30 degrees.

LIES!!! We have 4 inches already in Johnston (at least where I am at), and it’s only a quarter after 4. LOL… Drive safely if you MUST go out folks.
