While most of us are shopping for family and friends, a local non-profit is sending gifts to people overseas.
Outreach Inc. filled a truck with 1.5 million meals Tuesday. They're being shipped to the Philippines, which is still recovering from Typhoon Haiyan that hit last month.
Officials say the meals have been packaged from volunteers from all across the US.
The packaged meals contain rice, soy casserole and dehydrated veggies. Although it will be a few days before the shipment arrives.
“Within a period of 45 to 60 days these meals will be feeding the desperate hungry people who were affected by the hurricane of the Philippines,” Rick McNary said
The meals will be distributed to three different groups in the south-east Asian archipelago.
