On a cold Christmas Eve, a story to warm your heart. It's a story of how a complete stranger made Christmas merry for a special little girl.
This is the story of 11-year-old Savannah Tuigong.
Savannah's father died a while ago, and her mother is in the hospital. So Savannah is staying with family friend Candice Moore.
Moore knows how hard Christmas will be for Savannah, so she went to the Kmart on Hubbell Avenue to buy some presents for Savannah.
But times are tough, and Moore wasn't able to get Savannah's presents out of layaway in time for Christmas.
That's where this Christmas miracle comes in.
A complete stranger paid off the layaway for Moore and several other moms and dads just like her.
"Kmart called and said that some nice gentleman came and paid off my layaway. And I said, 'what?' And she said 'yeah you only owe one cent' and so I was like ecstatic," Moore said. "Because I don't think I would have been able to get it in time."
Moore shared her story with us because she wanted to thank the stranger who helped give Savannah a merry Christmas.
The store manager says the stranger paid off around $1,500 worth of toys in layaway.
