FATAL ACCIDENT: Man Chasing Dog Hit On I-35

The Iowa State Patrol says an Iowa man struck and killed another man Wednesday night in Warren County.

The crash report says 74-year-old Lance Anderson of Marine on St. Croix, MN was stranded alongside Interstate 35.

State Patrol says he walked in to the left lane southbound to chase his dog after it had become loose.

Shelton Short, 34, of Osceola told troopers he didn’t see Anderson and hit him.

Police say Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
