Posted on: 7:16 am, December 29, 2013, by , updated on: 05:40pm, December 29, 2013

***A WIND CHILL ADVISORY is in place until 9 PM for Central Iowa and Noon Monday for Northern Iowa***

Make sure to limit exposure to the cold and wind by covering up skin and spending as little time as possible outdoors. Overnight lows into Monday morning will be in the single digits below zero.

After a below zero start, temperatures will stay in the teens for Monday, with little change through the week. Light snow will be possible in Northern Iowa on Monday, spreading south on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. While the snow will never be particularly heavy, 3-day totals will still approach 2 to 2.5″ in Des Moines, and as much as 4-5″ in NE Iowa.
