A Sully man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly assaulting his wife.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to 110010 S 100th Avenue at 1:45 Saturday afternoon after getting a 911 call from a woman claiming she was being held against her will.
When deputies arrived they found a woman outside of the home who appeared to have been assaulted. Inside the home, William Sanders, was located passed out.
The woman told deputies Sanders, her husband, had assaulted her with a firearm. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Sanders was arrested and charged with willful injury and possession of firearms by a felon. He bonded out of jail Sunday.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation into the incident. More charges against Sanders are pending.
