BIG 12: Unbeaten ISU Prepare For Conference Play

Fred Hoiberg knew he had a good team, but even the Mayor can be surprised by just how good the Cyclones are.

Iowa State are off to their best start in school history, undefeated 12-0.  Now it’s on to Big 12 play.

ISU are considered a favorite to contend along with Oklahoma State, Baylor and Kansas. But they’ll have their hands full every night.

The Cyclones are on the road Saturday at Texas Tech facing a team coached by Tubby Smith.

And the men are not the only ones doing the Cyclone nation proud. Iowa State women also remain perfect.

Thursday evening, they rolled over TCU in their Big 12 opener, 71-49.  Kidd Blaskowsy led the way with 24.  As a team they hit 15-three’s.

ISU women are now 12-0, which ties the best start in school history.
