An eight-alarm fire called firefighters in the metro to a house in Granger that was engulfed in flames.
Crews were called to 190th Street in the Manning Heights neighborhood of Granger around 10 p.m. on Saturday night.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said the homeowner made it out of the home in plenty of time and no one was injured in the fire. Crews were able to get the flames under control quickly, according to firefighters on the scene.
Firefighters said the eight-alarm fire was needed because of the extreme combination of the frigid cold and the blaze of the fire. The eight crews were then able to fight the fire in shifts and move crews around so the firefighters could stay safe and warm despite the temperatures.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
