A Hamilton man could face charges for following through with a dare at the Des Moines International Airport.

Police were called to the airport Monday just before 2:00 p.m. on a baggage claim issue. Witnesses told officers a man had first stuck his head through a baggage doorway, then crouched down and rode the moving belt around the secured area and back out the other side.

The 27-year-old man told police he rode the carousel on a dare and, “Didn’t think it was going to be that big of a deal.” He also admitted to having three drinks a few hours before the incident.

No charges have been filed yet.
