The Iowa Department of Public Safety says a cold case involving three murders in 1984 has been solved.

A news conference is being held Friday to release information about the case. The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office, Davis County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation will be present to discuss the murders.

The news conference is being held in Ottumwa at the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office at 2:00 p.m. Friday. We’ll have a crew covering the news conference.

According to the Iowa Cold Cases website, the only unsolved triple-murder in Iowa in 1984 happened in southeast Iowa. The site says 20-year-old Justin Hook, 41-year-old Sarah Link, and 19-year-old Tina Lade were all killed in April.

Justin Hook’s body was found April 13th near his burned-out mobile home close to Drakesville, Sarah Link’s body was found April 16th on a farmer’s land near Eldon, and Tina Lade’s body was located April 18th in a ravine about a half-a-mile from where Sarah Link’s body was discovered.

All three died from blunt force trauma to the head.

No one has been convicted in the murders.
