Real Estate Blog Movoto recently named Waukee the best place in the state.

Waukee was ranked number one based on its A+ ranking in education both for being the fastest growing school district in the state and the area’s high school diploma attainment rate of 95 percent, according to Movoto.

Coming in at number two was North Liberty while Johnston and Grimes tied for the number three spot.  The second and third ranked cities were chosen by Movoto for the low unemployment rates, safety ratings and real estate pricing.

The 81 cities in Iowa with a population over 5,000 were ranked from one to 81 based on crime rate, cost of living, unemployment, high school diploma attainment rate as well as median household value, home value and rental pricing.

Other central Iowa cities that made the top ten included Ankeny, Pleasant Hill, Urbandale and Clive.
