The city of Waukee adopted a new snow and ice policy for the winter months.
The city council approved the snow and ice control policy on Jan. 8 at the city council meeting. The policy illustrates what streets will be prioritized for snow and ice removal.
The council’s new policy states that it will take safety, budget, personnel and environmental concerns into account on when to implement the policy.
The city’s policy also added that it does not guarantee that streets, sidewalks, parking areas, trails or public property will be free of snow and ice so residents should always expect to drive cautiously during the winter months.
