Recent resignation of state leaders like David Worley, K. Brian London and Mariannette Miller-Meeks has cast doubt on whether they were the best choice for the job.

Worley resigned as Commandant for the Iowa Veterans Home in October after claims that Worley created a hostile work environment.  Mariannette Miller-Meeks recently resigned after she made a controversial claim that Iowans use food stamps to buy Mt. Dew more than any other product.

Gov. Branstad said he thought they had lots of talented people working for the state now but you can always run into problems with employees.  Branstad added that Worley's leadership style presented problems but the new commandant is much better suited to the job.
