West Des Moines police arrested a bank robbery suspect thanks to a bold bank employee.

The robbery happened at First Bank at 301 5th Street in West Des Moines just before 2 p.m. Tuesday.

An employee took a picture of the minivan used by the suspect and then followed it.

The employee passed on the description and license plate information. Officers spotted the vehicle a short time later stopping it at 28th and Westown Parkway.

At gunpoint, police took 34-year-old Shawn Antisdel into custody without incident.

Bank workers told police they believe Antisdel is the same man who robbed the bank earlier this month.

Police are investigating the two thefts and say robbery charges are pending.
