DeAndre Kane was a good player at Marshall making All-Conference USA.
Fred Hoiberg knew he was getting a good senior leader at point guard. But even Hoiberg can be surprised by just how good Kane has played this season.
Kane is averaging 17 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists for the Cyclones. Those numbers are better than when he was at Marshall.
Kane is not only one of the top players in the Big 12, but one of the best all-around players in the country.
He also has the experience, Kane is 24-years-old, and his teammates often remind him.
“I don’t give him too much trouble but we obviously joke around about that stuff,” Georges Niang says. “A man-child is how I like to describe him. He’s a do-it-all type of guy. At the end of the day, all he wants to do is win.”
