TANNING SALONS: Proposal Raises Age To 18
Two Iowa representatives are backing a bill to change the rules at tanning salons.
The proposal would prohibit people under 18 from tanning. Currently, teens as young as 14 can go to tanning salons with parental permission.
The bill would also require tanning businesses to offer a written warning to each customer before they use the beds.
A similar bill was discussed last session but it didn’t gain enough momentum to pass.
