In a chase worthy of World’s Wildest Police Videos, one woman jumps from the moving car as flames bring the chase to a halt on NE 14th and Army Post Road in Des Moines.

Officers say the chase, that started in Pleasant Hill and continued into Jasper County, through Mitchellville and back onto I-80 towards Altoona, reached speeds of up to 120mph.

The driver, 42-year-old Jerry Pancoast, is facing charges of felony eluding, driving while license suspended, failure to obey traffic control device, and speeding.

The reason for the chase - one of the females admitted to stealing tweezers and an eyebrow pencil from a Hy-Vee in Pleasant Hill. The male driver said he thought there was a warrant out for his arrest which police say wasn't the case.
