GOP leaders say Iowa will still hold the first in the nation caucus for the 2016 presidential campaign.
The Republican National Committee agreed to condense the 2016 presidential nominating calendar and move up the party’s national convention.
Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada will vote in February under the new schedule.
Officials say there will be strict penalties if any state moves its primary to January.
The other states will vote between March and May. Their national convention will be in June.
