After interviews with five finalists, Waukee’s next police chief has been chosen.
Mayor Bill Peard announced Wednesday John Quinn has been selected.
Quinn is a former Director of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. He served in that role from June of 2008 to January of 2012.
“We are pleased to have John Quinn as the Waukee Police Chief,” says Peard. “John is highly respected throughout the state for his leadership, his value of relationships and his integrity.”
Quinn’s first day on the job will be March 16th.
He is replacing Chief Larry Phillips, who is retiring after 35 years of service.
The Waukee City Council must still approve the appointment. They are set to meet February 3rd.
