An off-duty Division of Criminal Investigation agent is being credited for stopping a robbery at a convenience store Wednesday night.

Special Agent Shelby McCreedy was outside of the Casey’s store at 1408 East 7th Street in Atlantic when she saw the robbery going on inside. She told people in the parking lot not to enter the store and called 911.

McCreedy then entered the story and identified herself as a peace officer to the suspect, 22-year-old Brady Salberg. She ordered him to get on the floor and Salberg complied. When officers from the Atlantic Police Department arrived he was taken into custody.

Salberg is being held in the Cass County Jail. He is charged with 2nd degree robbery.
