Des Moines’ Jeremy Stephens is one tough dude at any weight.
But since dropping down to featherweight, the MMA fighter has vaulted into the top ten.
Stephens needed less than a minute to win a big UFC fight against some guy now questioning his choice of profession.
Then at Fox 10 from Chicago this past weekend, Stephens dominated Darrin Elkins. Elkins somehow made it to the end.
The guy they call Lil Heathen talked about the new momentum in his career.
“I feel really great mentally but I’ll get better. I think as the years go by with more experience that I’m getting and the knowledge, I’m a big book reader, I like to get knowledge from there and I’m constantly changing, evolving, adapting and progressing,” Stephens told Channel 13.
Stephens plans to win the title, so he'll keep an eye on Saturday's UFC 169 fight between champion Jozay Aldo and Ricardo Lamas.
