An Iowa State Trooper has been cleared after he shot a suspect during a chase last month.

It happened December 1st in Council Bluffs.

Trooper Tim Sieleman crashed his patrol car while pursuing Michael Lee of Carter Lake.

Sieleman says Lee tried to run him over, so he fired at Lee’s truck. Paramedics took Lee to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Pottawattamie County Attorney says he will take no action against Sielemen.

Lee faces second degree theft charges.
