President Barack Obama gave the State of the Union address last Tuesday night. He announced his agenda for 2014 and topping the list included plans to up the minimum wage as well as push for income equality.
Republican Party activist and former nominee for Iowa Governor Doug Gross said he thought the President was playing “small ball” when the people wanted him to bring bigger ideas and change to the table.
Democrat and former Iowa Attorney General Bonnie Campbell said she disagreed and the bigger problems lie with Congress. Campbell said whenever the president wants to make big moves on big issues, Congress stalls and rejects most of the proposals in front of them.
