Waukee is holding a special election Tuesday to decide on money for a new elementary school.
The school would be located at the intersection of Dartmoor and Douglas Avenue and would be the district’s 8th elementary school. The $18.9 million referendum would go toward building the new school and replacing the HVAC system at Brookview Elementary.
If voters approve the measure, screws would start construction this year and hope to have the new school ready for class in 2016.
Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.
