The World Food and Music Festival will have a new location for its 10-year anniversary.
The Downtown Community Alliance of Des Moines will be held at the Walnut Street Bridge this September. The new location was chosen to allow more food vendors, a bigger stage for music and entertainment as well as larger demonstration areas.
The three-day event started in 2004 with an 8,000 people attending, according to the Downtown Community Alliance. Over the years the World Food and Music Festival has grown to serve more than 70,000 people.
“We’re thrilled our community has embraced this event and we continue to see our crowds grow each year,” said Glenn Lyons, CEO of the Downtown Community Alliance.
The World Food and Music Festival of 2014 is scheduled to be held Sept. 19, 20 and 21.
