Iowa lawmakers learned Friday night that two sisters of Representative Mary Wolfe, a Clinton Democrat, were murdered.

The sisters had just moved from Iowa to East Liberty, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, in December, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The paper said a friend became concerned about the well-being of the sisters who lived together and let authorities inside. That’s when police found the sisters dead.

Wolfe’s website said she is one of eight children and was elected to serve in the Iowa house in 2010.
