The criminal complaint charging a Tama County man with the murder of his parents is revealing some gruesome details.

Twenty-five-year-old Gordon Lasley Jr. is charged with two counts of first degree murder for the deaths of Gordon Lasley Sr. and Kim Lasley. Their bodies were found in their home on the Meskwaki Tribal Settlement Wednesday night.

The complaint says Lasley admitted to other family members that he had killed his parents with a machete. When law enforcement officials located Lasley he was driving his mother’s vehicle and had blood on his clothing and blood was visible inside the car. He also had some cuts on his hands.

Another son of the couple, Tyler Lasley, discovered the bodies. Kim Lasley was on the basement floor and Gordon Lasley Sr. was on the living room floor. Officials say their wounds appeared to be from an edged weapon.

A machete with blood on it was found on the couch in the living room.

Gordon Lasley Jr. is being held in the Tama County Jail on a bond of $2 million and his preliminary hearing is set for February 14th.
