Police said they arrested a man after he robbed a hotel and then raced through West Des Moines trying to get away.

Des Moines Police said it all started around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the Econo Lodge on Merle Hay Road when a man came in with a gun demanding money.  The clerk gave him some cash and the man took off, according to police.

West Des Moines Police said they were later chasing a suspect back into Des Moines.  The chase ended when the driver hit a snow drift on the corner of Hubbell and Ankeny Avenue.

When police checked out the driver and the car, they realized that both matched the descriptions for the hotel robbery.

Authorities took 25-year-old Kourtney Hall into custody.  Hall is charged with first-degree robbery, eluding police and driving while barred.

Hall is being held in the Polk County Jail on a $32,000 bond.

This kind of stuff is a nationwide epidemic. Most of our inner cities are dangerous and unlivable. It got worse in the last 10 years when people in the ghetto got loans for houses in the suburbs with no money down. People that had no business owning a home now were living next to people that worked hard and saved. It’s brought problems to places that were some of the safest in the country.
