The Des Moines schools’ aviation program will have more time to find a new home.

The Airport Authority Board is expected to approve a plan to allow the district to use its hanger until August of 2015.

The district currently leases 29,000 square feet from the airport. But that lease expires in June.

The airport eventually wants the space back to house more corporate jets.

This district has secured a new site for its program. But it won’t be ready by June.
