Firefighters from five departments were called to a fire Tuesday afternoon near Earlham.
When firefighters arrived around 2:30, half the home was already burning.
Firefighters say a wood stove likely started the fire. Everyone inside was able to get out safely.
Because of the rural location, firefighters had to run a hose 800-feet just to get to the fire and that wasn’t their only challenge.
“We’re trying to keep people warm right now, of course with the temperature slip fall hazards are always in the back of your mind,” Shawn Boyle said.
No firefighters were injured. But they say the home is considered a total loss.
