Snow totals in central Iowa aren’t expected to amount to much Wednesday but what has fallen is causing problems for motorists.

Around an inch of snow fell in parts of Story County and several accidents on I-35 in the area have been reported. A five vehicle accident south of the Highway 210 exit caused traffic to back up during the Wednesday morning’s commute.

The accident happened in the southbound lanes. It’s not known whether there were any injuries in the accident.

Witnesses report the road is like a “sheet of ice,” making it difficult for those on the road.
