Officials have arrested a man who drove a vehicle at a Division of Criminal Investigation agent Wednesday night.

It all started just after 9:00 at the Catfish Bend Casino in Burlington. The DCI got a report that someone was trying to break into vehicles at the casino.

As the agent arrived, the suspect was taking off in a casino employee’s vehicle. The suspect veered toward the agent and the agent fired three shots at the vehicle.

The suspect managed to escape.

Thursday morning authorities arrested 40-year-old David Cross in connection with the case. Authorities say an individual called the police to offer a tip on Cross’ whereabouts and tell them Cross was likely involved in the casino incident.

Cross is charged with assault on a peace officer, interference with official acts, and operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
