A Des Moines woman is recovering in the hospital after police say someone stabbed her right outside her front door.

It happened late Wednesday night in the 2300 block of Richland Drive.

The 22-year-old woman said a man ran up behind her as she was walking up to her house, shoved her against the door and asked for a man's address. Police say the suspect then stabbed her in her stomach and ran off.

The victim told officers she didn't know anyone who would attack her, or what address the suspect was referring to.

She's in stable condition at the hospital.

No arrests have been reported but police say they don't think this is a random occurrence, or that the public is in any danger.

It takes a special person to drive a knife into someone else. As long as this attacker is walking among us the public will always be in danger.
