Another round of cold weather will hang through the morning, with below zero temperatures in many spots.

A brief warm up Friday afternoon will give way to snow from Friday night into Saturday. Highs will be around 30 degrees before the evening snow pushes through. Minor snow accumulation is expected in Des Moines, with 0.5 to 1 inch expected on Friday.  Another two inches of snow is expected to fall on Saturday evening.

The snow will continue Saturday night through Sunday in southern Iowa. Snow totals from the storm could top six inches by Sunday night with the heaviest levels in the south, mainly along the Missouri border.

People in Des Moines should expect a weekend total of two to four inches of snow to fall between Friday evening and late Saturday night.
