SPRING THAW: Communities Concerned About Flooding

On a snowy day, it might be hard to imagine a spring thaw but communities near lakes and rivers are already preparing for the winter aftermath.

Storm Lake City leaders said once the snow melts in certain areas, it’s going to cause flooding problems.  Those problems are the result of neighborhoods not having a proper system in place to remove storm water.

Officials said they will use sales tax money to improve infrastructure and flood management so they can be better prepared for the spring thaw.
