WIND CHILL WARNING: Record Lows Tonight

A Wind Chill Warning will be in effect in North Central Iowa for wind chills of -25 to -35 through noon. A Wind Chill Advisory is in place for the Des Moines Metro for wind chills near -20 through noon.

Highs will only only reach 2 degrees in Des Moines. North of I-80, temperatures will stay below zero all day. Overnight Sunday into Monday record cold will spread into the state, with many locations shattering record lows by 5 to 10 degrees Monday morning with readings between -10 and -20. Des Moines record low Monday morning is -6 set in 1884. We are forecasting a low of -13.

Temperatures return above freezing Thursday afternoon.
