The West Des Moines school district is struggling to keeps its website online.

Parents and students have been greeted with a “connection timed out” page.

The district says it’s caused by a continuous denial of service attack.

“The true source has not been identified yet, as the source is continuously changing.  It does not appear that they are trying to hack into our network, but instead trying to overwhelm our internet connections, which they are successful doing,” the district said.

The district says it is unsure when the website will be back up and running.
