A Webster County town is under a boil advisory after a water main break.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says the break happened Tuesday night in Dayton an caused the water tower to drain.

Loss of water pressure can allow bacteria to get into the system.

Crews are working to repair the water main, but a boil advisory will remain in place until two sets of bacteria samples have been completed showing that the water is safe.
