Grand View University wrestler Isaiah Tatum was ranked #1 in the nation when a December car accident ended his season.

Tatum nearly died. He spent time in a medically induced coma. But this week, Tatum surprised his teammates with a visit to practice.

Tatum inspires his teammates as they prepare to defend their national title.

Doctors wired Tatum's jaw shut after recently finding two breaks, he’s still able to speak

“I just felt like I was home, felt like the whole world was once again mine. To see all the smiling faces and to know that I'm missed. It was all love,” says Tatum.

Teammate Nick Mitchell says, “It was awesome, we're excited this week anyway going to the tournament, and Tatum walks in.”

Tatum will go with the team to the national championships. The Vikings leave Thursday.
