Iowa Senators are debating a bill that would allow police to pull over drivers for texting.

Under current law teenagers can be pulled over if they are texting behind the wheel.

All other drivers can only be charged with a crime if they are first pulled over for another reason.

The Senate bill would apply the teen law to all drivers.

Debate began Monday evening but there was no vote and the bill was deferred to a later date.

Pull them ALL over…I walk my dogs every day…a lot…you absolutely would not believe some of the things I see while people are either on their phones, or texting. It’s pretty sad, and dangerous.
