AGRIBUSINESS: Breakfast Starting Americans’ Days Farther From Home

If breakfast is the most important meal of the day, American last year took that advice to heart.

A new report from the NPD Group says visits to restaurants for breakfast are going up; American made about 12.5 billion visits to breakfast locations in 2013, more than ever before.

Lunch and evening restaurant meals last year declined by 1%.

The strongest increase was in quick-service restaurants, which accounted for 80% of all restaurant morning meals. The NPD Group estimates over the next 9 years, restaurant visits will increase 7%.
