It’s day two of one organization’s goal to package one million meals over spring break.

Volunteers are teaming up with Meals from the Heartland through Thursday at the State Fairgrounds.

There are two different types of meals. One is a rice and soy meal and the other is macaroni and cheese.

The meals are going to the DMARC food pantry, the Food Bank of Iowa, a group in New Mexico and overseas.

There are also t-shirts stamped with this year’s theme for sale.

“People come down here to package and have fun, and if you get this t-shirt, they’ll remember packaging meals and each t-shirt will pay for 60 meals,” explains volunteer, Morgan Keen.
