For all but one team, the NCAA Tournament ends with a loss and the end hits hard.

Fran McCaffery knows that helpless feeling after a first round loss to Tennessee.

The Hawkeyes are now looking ahead to next season as they say farewell to three seniors - Zach McCabe, Devyn Marble and Melsahn Basabe.

“It’s so special to me. I had a daughter this year and I don’t know which one is more special,” “I love my baby but I feel the same way about this opportunity.”

He added, “I’ve been living the dream.”

Coach McCaffery described Basabe as “one of the top rebounders in Iowa history and a thousand points scorer. I’ve watch him grow up and he is a part of my family.”

This Iowa program has taken a step in each of the last three seasons. They’ll be working towards a NCAA tournament win next year.
