Kum & Go is pursuing a move of its headquarters to a new downtown location.
The company has been leasing its current facility in West Des Moines on Westown Parkway since 2000.
Officials say the company, which operates over 400 convenience stores, projects it will outgrow that space within three to five years.
The company is looking into obtaining land on Grand Avenue between 14th and 15th streets north of the Pappajohn Sculpture Park.
“Building a new office space provides a unique opportunity for us to create a collaborative and engaging work environment for our associates from a blank canvas. We also plan to build an environmentally-friendly facility to support Kum & Go’s commitment to sustainability,” President and CEO Kyle Krause said.
Though planning is in the early stages, the goal is to move by late 2016 or early 2017.
