Overnight tonight skies will become cloudy as snow moves into the state for Monday.

Snow will start early in the morning and continue into the afternoon across most of Central Iowa. A lot of snow will melt as it falls and most accumulations will occur in grassy areas. Still, accumulations of 1-3" are likely, with the highest totals over the NE half of the state. In Des Moines, totals of 1 or 2" are likely.

Even though the snow may not stick much to pavement, the slush and runoff will refreeze overnight and create slick conditions into Tuesday.

Temperatures will be back in the 40s and 50s for daytime highs by the end of the week.
